Social Security Schemes:

Out of total 553.52 lakh no of PMJDY accounts, 150.90 lakh are enrolled under PMJJBY, 374.71 lakh are enrolled under PMSBY and 66.69 lakh accounts are enrolled under APY as on 31.12.2025, thus having coverage of 67.70% in PMSBY, 27.26% in PMJJBY and 12.05% in APY. It is worth mentioning that, enrolment percent in social security scheme is increasing and member banks are requested to maintain the same pace and to bring maximum number of accounts under ambit of social security schemes in coming days.



Amendment in rules for implementation of PMJJBY:

It has been advised by DFS, MoF, GoI (letter F.No.H-12011/2/2015-Ins.II dated 02.05.2016) to incorporate a lien clause in the rules of PMJJBY with effect from 01.06.2016 whereby claims for deaths which occur during first 45 days from the date of enrollment will not be paid, meaning that the risk cover will commence only from 46th day from the date of enrollment. However, death due to accident will be exempted from the lien clause.
